Freeze

People are familiar with the phrase "flight or fight"

what they forget is freeze.

I wonder 

if every time they said fight or flight

they remembered to say freeze,

would there be more empathy,

for those who couldn't fight or fly,

those of us who couldn’t break free?

You want to know why? 

I’ll let you what it’s like;

a paralysis of sorts,

a catatonic state

there is no escape.

Listen, they were screaming

It's just nothing came out.

They were fighting

But the body wouldn't move.

They ran and ran,

they did all a frozen body can.

So reader, please
