Take a moment, spare a thought for the truth tellers.
They are under assault,
lead by Trump
and other snake oil sellers.
He brands them enemies of the people,
he pits the public against the press
Its now just an occupational hazard
for a journalist to receive a death threat
Messengers are getting shot
The rhetoric is far too hot
The claim of "fake news" is an excuse to dismiss
Earnest hard working journalists
Under attack on all sides
Attacks of all manner and kind
We must protect the truth tellers
Without them we are blind.
