Parallel Pandemics (poem)

In the UK we find ourselves victim of parallel pandemics;

one kills, the other silences, key workers and medics.

Besides the obvious risks of killer corona

there’s the present threat from propaganda

this can’t be mitigated they’ve already done the damage

critical thinking in the population ravaged.

so much money and effort sent towards these ends

They groom the public so completely they don’t need to defend

Their actions, choices, their lethal failure.

Get them to claim there’s no risk, yet demand teachers be braver.

killing off questions about those at the helm

those whose actions have enabled both devastating epidemics

those we know to be devoid

- of even bare minimum ethics
