Stop Using Populism as a Euphemism for Fascism

An extra note for Cath who I have always been impressed with and super pleased to see identify the Brexit movement as fascist, and anyone else discussing this fascism.

Something that would enhance the antifascist analysis and arguments is about definitions and distinctions around the term populism. though, fascism is a kind of populism, so too is Marxism so let’s not call them populist, we are not equivalent.

Populism asserts that there is an elite who’s interests are antithetical to that of most humans.

Marxism therefore obviously populist by nature -and as proponents of egalitarianism, those with interests Leftists consider to pose the threat to the rest of us are fascists and the rich.

I’m sure some would like dispute this assertion but I doubt many would dare try.

On the other hand it’s very simple to prove that the fascists judgement of who’s interests contradict with the majority is entirely baseless.

Fascism is an AstroTurf populism riddled with condition that justifies nothing they seek.

Populism is a euphemism for fascism, let’s call things what they are and help others understand the language needed to counter fascism also.

We are left wing populism

to fascists and the rich, we say,

we are coming for you.
