Save Our Human Rights Act - the campaign
Please everyone must sign this. Boris Johnson is planning to “update” the human rights act so it no longer applies before the date the act was created.
EXEMPTIONS
Liberty and Amnesty international say that as the act would no longer have the central principally that it applies to everyone that this “update” fundamentally undermines the act and sets a precedent for creating exemptions.
Once you make one exception there is legal back up to crate another.
If you want the Human Rights Act to apply to everyone in any situation as it should please sign the petition and share with those you know.
All of this is made worse and more urgent now that we have lost our fundamental rights that membership of the EU and adhering to the Charter of Fundamental a rights gave us.
It was the only Eu law they singled out for repeal.
That should tell you a lot.
They hated it because It was a stronger remedy in court than the human rights act as it could actually tear up oppressive laws.
This is done, the rights are already lost so why am I telling you?
Well, I believe you maintain the moral right to know what has been taken from you.
I can only hope it wakes you up to the risk of the human rights act being next.
