Welcome to the Shock Doctrine.
Privatising & Power grabbing
while population’s still reeling.
Emboldened by a public distracted,
they make their moves,
put bottom draw plans into action.
Impunity born of self preservation.
We aren’t the first society to be ravaged in this way,
we wont be the last - in this global crisis
many will be at the mercy of tyrants today.
Pandemic: perfect timing!
to make the damage of brexit
to finish off the project.
So use this time to ammend our Human Rights
Act. We’ve already lost Fundamental Rights
that is a fact.
Part of the last power grab
the barrel still smoking
A Shock Doctrine action taken then
hidden by crisis created by them
most still don’t know, I have no doubt
they’ve been failed by a media that turned
the public interest test inside out.
Now, we see talk of contracts going to Palantir
and there that little voice I hear:
“Hey, doesn’t Palantir have a relationship with the
scandalous Cambridge Analytica?”
Double check and let out a sigh.
Why was I, even for a moment, surprised?
This pandemic affords them a witching hour.
Emergency legislation they said we did need
hasnt even been used, indeed,
every action taken could have been done under prior legislation.
So why these new powers?
Who knows, we are yet to see
what they do with this Shock Doctrine witching hour.
