“Save the Planet”

The planet doesn't need saving,

Earth will be just fine.

It’s not the planet but the people

running out of time.

It didn't shiver in the ice age.

Nor did it flinch when meteors struck.

The planet will persist,it will go on.

Long past the life time of creature

,the life span of any species.

You may think we humans are special

but the earth does not.

It will pay no more notice to our passing

than the extinction of any other.

The planet is passive; a witness.

Only we would care

if only we could care past extinction.

It is ourselves, all life, that we must strive to save

from unnecessary and premature existential threat.
