"I Will Tackle The Burning Injustices In our Society"

How do the words not cut her lips?

How does she keep a straight face?

Pledging to ease suffering caused

By her own conservative government

By their own flammable policy

Not evidence based but led by ideology

Who needs experts anyway?

She didn't just fail to extinguish

She exacerbated the flames

Her premiership has been

Gallons of gushing gasoline

Feeding the ravenous fire

In the forest of public funds

They cut and cut down the trees

Leaving only kindling

Happy to walk away

Even as the sun sets dry twigs alight

A forest fire of austerity that would span the country

The wind rushed, fanning the flames

Their suffering was pure oxygen

Transforming burning injustices into a towering inferno.

 - A tower in inferno

We all saw the pictures

The horror sheered into the back of our eyes

Seventy two, seventy three lives

They burnt and there’s no justice

For the bereaved; no peace

And in their heavy hearts

Burning injustices blaze brighter than ever
