Shock Doctrine & Media Failure

Welcome to the Shock Doctrine.

Privatising, power grabbing;

while population is still reeling.

Emboldened by a public preoccupied by self preservation ,

they make their moves,

put bottom draw plans into action.

This is the shock doctrine:

opportunistic use of this pandemic as distraction

We aren’t the first society to receive shock therapy,

we wont be the last - in this global crisis

many face more dire straits

will be at the mercy of tyrants

Pandemic: perfect timing!

to mask the damage of Brexit

to finish off the project.

So use this time to diverge

from Human Rights

Act.

We’ve already lost our Fundamental Rights

- that is a fact.

Part two of the last power grab,

the barrel still smoking,

a Shock Doctrine action taken

hidden by the political climate at the time; a crisis

of their creation.

Most still don’t know what they’ve lost.

Of that, sadly, I have no doubt.

Because they have been failed by the media;

our press; that turned the public interest test

inside out.

Now, we see talk of contracts going to Palantir

and there’s that little voice I hear:

“Hey, doesn’t Palantir have a relationship with the

scandalous Cambridge Analytica?”

A connection not reported on the news,

Double-check, and

fucking, yes.

I lean back and let out a sigh.

Why was I, even for a moment, surprised?
